Sign inOverview
Ideogram 4.5 Edit changes an existing photo with a prompt: swap a sign, add a product, change a pattern, repaint a wordmark. It keeps the pixels you did not ask to change at their original size, and it can bring in references, such as a logo, a product or a style, to guide the result.
It is the editing counterpart to Ideogram 4.5 and carries the same strength: lettering that comes out as written.
What it does well
- Mask-based edits. Give it a black-and-white mask the same size as the image; either colour can mark the region to change.
- Reference images. Up to 4 images, or 3 when a mask is used, to bring in a product, logo, pattern or style.
- Exact text in edits. Put the words in quotes and name the lettering style.
- Four quality tiers. Very low, low, medium and high, with medium for most edits and high for print-grade detail.
Prompting tips
Describe the change itself, not the mask. "Paint the bold wordmark 'RAMP' across the shopfront in white block capitals" tells the model what to do; describing the masked area does not. If you use references, say how each should be used. Start at a lower tier to confirm the edit lands, then re-run on high for the final.
Limits to know
The input photo can be JPEG, PNG or WebP, up to 25 MB, with an aspect ratio between 1:6 and 6:1. Using a mask limits reference images to three. An optional copyright check adds latency and withholds images it flags. This model is billed on the real cost of each run, so the price follows quality and is quoted on the Run button before you spend.
