Overview

Seedance 2.0 Mini, from ByteDance, is the cheapest per-second video model here. It renders at 480p or 720p with audio generated alongside the picture, in clips of 4 to 15 seconds, and keeps the same prompt style as the rest of the Seedance 2 family.

Pick it for drafts, quick social clips, storyboards and any job where volume and cost matter more than resolution.

What it does well

  • Low cost per second. It is the lowest-priced Seedance tier, with audio included at no extra charge.
  • Familiar controls. A first frame, an optional last frame, up to 9 reference images cited as "image 1" and up to 3 MP3 files cited as "audio 1".
  • Multi-shot prompts. Use "Shot 1:", "Shot 2:" to lay out a sequence.
  • Six aspect ratios. 16:9, 9:16, 1:1, 4:3, 3:4 and 21:9.

Prompting tips

Write the same kind of prompt you would for Seedance 2.0: subject, action, camera, mood, with shots numbered for a sequence. Use Mini to settle the idea and the motion, then move the winning prompt to a larger model if you need more resolution. High bitrate mode produces much larger files at no extra charge, which is useful if you plan to edit the clip afterwards.

Limits to know

Resolution is capped at 720p, and duration is one of 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12 or 15 seconds. A last frame requires a first frame. There is no reference video input on this model.
