Seedance 2.0, from ByteDance, generates video up to 15 seconds long with audio produced together with the picture, at resolutions from 480p all the way to 4K. It takes a text prompt on its own, or anchors the clip with a first frame, a last frame and reference images and audio.
It is the broad, high-resolution option in the Seedance 2 family: more resolution headroom than the faster variants, with the same prompt style across all of them.
What it does well
- A wide resolution range. 480p, 720p, 1080p and 4K, so one model covers drafts and final delivery.
- Co-generated audio. Dialogue, effects and ambience arrive with the video, and the audio is not an extra cost.
- Multi-shot prompts. Use "Shot 1:", "Shot 2:" to structure a sequence inside one clip.
- References. Up to 9 reference images, cited in the prompt as "image 1", "image 2", and up to 3 MP3 files for audio.
- Many aspect ratios. 16:9, 9:16, 1:1, 4:3, 3:4 and 21:9.
Prompting tips
State the shots in order and say what the camera does in each. Keep references few and relevant, and cite them by number. Work at a low resolution until the motion is right: 4K is several times the per-second price of 720p, so it belongs at the end of the process. A last frame requires a first frame, so set both for a controlled transition.
Limits to know
Duration is a whole number of seconds from 4 to 15. Auto duration and auto quality are not offered, because they have no knowable price before the run. This model has no reference video input; use Seedance 2.5 for video-to-video.
